Using the combination of the two cultural art element which represents my Japanese American identiy, I portraited my gratitude towards my luckiness of my life. With all the poeple who supported me, I am able to study art in the wondeful environment in California including UC Berkeley, and having peaceful life which allows me to watch Japanese animation. By incooperating the feeling of the gratidude to my body, I focused on painting intuitive which allows to me express my pure feelings towards people who supported me. Furthermore, this work encourages me to keep stepping forward, use the chances that came with my luckiness, and do everything I can for the myself and people who supported me.

日本とアメリカ、二つの文化的な美術要素を組み合わせることで、自身の日系アメリカ人としてのアイデンティティを表現し、これまでの人生で与えられてきた幸運への感謝を描きました。私を支えてくれた多くの人々のおかげで、私はカリフォルニアの素晴らしい環境の中で、UCバークレーを含む場で芸術を学ぶことができ、さらに日本のアニメーションを楽しめるような平和な生活を送ることができています。その感謝の気持ちを自分の身体に重ね合わせながら、直感的に描くことに集中し、私を支えてくれた人々への純粋な想いを表現しました。さらにこの作品には、自分に与えられた幸運によって訪れた機会を大切にし、自分自身のためにも、そして支えてくれた人々のためにも、これからも前に進み続けたいという思いが込められています。
